multidisciplinary storyteller
columbia publishing course (CPC)

During the Columbia Publishing Course, I had the opportunity to conceptualize an entire book from start to finish. My partner and I came up with “The Real Housewives of Sparta,” a look into the lives of women in Ancient Greece as told through a comedic lens. Later on in media workshop, my group came up with "VU"– an online news outlet that documented resistive art.

'vu' presentation
written by Gillian McMahon and presented at the final day of media workshop.
Within silence are people around you with a voice and a purpose. Within that silence, we watch women march on Washington, wearing matching pink hats. We appreciate Francisco Goya’s “The Third of May 1808” commemorating Spanish resistance to Napoleon's armies. We dance in the streets for a new world and a new day.
Today, we ask you to notice, to see the people and their souls behind the dance, the paint, and the movement, to take a different point of view.
